Dutasteride (0.5mg)
DUTASPRIDE
Dutasteride is a medication primarily used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), which is an enlargement of the prostate gland in men. It is also used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia).
Dutasteride works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which is responsible for converting testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is a hormone that contributes to the growth of the prostate gland. By inhibiting the production of DHT, dutasteride helps shrink the prostate gland, relieving symptoms of BPH such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and the need to urinate urgently or at night.
