Granisetron hydrochloride
GRANISTROM  is a medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. It belongs to a class of drugs called 5-HT3 receptor antagonists, which work by blocking the action of serotonin in the body. Serotonin is a chemical messenger that can cause nausea and vomiting when released in response to certain stimuli.
GRANISTROM  is specifically indicated for the prevention of acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, as well as for the prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with radiation therapy.
GRANISTROM  is usually taken orally in tablet form or administered intravenously. GRANISTROM  dosage and duration of treatment will depend on the individual's medical history, the type of chemotherapy or radiation therapy being used, and other factors. Like all medications, GRANISTROM  can cause side effects, such as headache, constipation, and dizziness. Patients should speak with their doctor about any concerns or questions they may have about GRANISTROM  or their treatment plan.
