Maintenance Dose: The dosage may be gradually increased over time, usually at intervals of 5 to 7 days, based on individual response and tolerability. The maximum recommended daily dose is 4.5 mg.
Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS):
The starting dose for RLS is typically lower, around 0.125 mg taken orally once daily, 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.
Similarly, the dose may be adjusted gradually based on individual response and tolerability, with the maximum recommended daily dose being 0.75 mg.
 

Side Effects:
Common Side Effects: Nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, constipation, insomnia, headache.
Less Common Side Effects: Orthostatic hypotension drop in blood pressure upon standing, hallucinations, confusion, impulse control disorders (such as compulsive gambling or eating), dyskinesias (abnormal involuntary movements).
Rare but Serious Side Effects: Some individuals may experience symptoms of augmentation, where RLS symptoms worsen over time with continued use of pramipexole. Additionally, sudden onset of sleep, sometimes without warning, has been reported.
 

Withdrawal Effects: Abrupt discontinuation of pramipexole may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as worsening of RLS symptoms, anxiety, agitation, and sweating.
