Sacubitril & Valsartan (100 mg)
SACUBRIGHT is a medication used to treat heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. It is a combination of two drugs, sacubitril and valsartan.
Sacubitril works by inhibiting an enzyme called neprilysin, which breaks down certain hormones that regulate blood pressure and fluid balance. By inhibiting neprilysin, sacubitril allows these hormones to accumulate, which can help to reduce the workload on the heart and improve heart function.
Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II, which can cause blood vessels to narrow and increase blood pressure. By blocking the action of angiotensin II, valsartan helps to relax the blood vessels, which can improve blood flow and reduce the workload on the heart.
SACUBRIGHT is taken orally twice daily and can be taken with or without food. It is important to regularly monitor kidney function and potassium levels while taking this medication.
SACUBRIGHT is available in strengths of 50 & 100 mg.
