TELMISTRUM TRIO
Telmisartan (40mg), Cilnidipine (10mg), and Chlorthalidone (12.5mg) are medications used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).
Telmisartan: It belongs to a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). Telmisartan works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to narrow, thereby relaxing and widening the blood vessels. This effect helps to lower blood pressure. Telmisartan is usually taken once a day.
Cilnidipine: It is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that blocks the calcium channels in blood vessels, leading to relaxation and widening of the blood vessels. This action helps to lower blood pressure. Cilnidipine is often prescribed in cases where other CCBs may cause side effects such as ankle swelling. The usual recommended dosage of cilnidipine is once or twice a day.
Chlorthalidone: It is a thiazide-like diuretic that increases the excretion of water and salt from the body, leading to a decrease in blood volume and a subsequent reduction in blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is typically taken once a day in the morning.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
