Cinnarizine & Dimenhydrinate
CLANARIZINE HD
Cinnarizine is an antihistamine and calcium channel blocker. It works by blocking the H1 histamine receptors in the brain, reducing the sensitivity of the vestibular system to motion stimuli. Cinnarizine also inhibits the entry of calcium into cells, which helps to prevent excessive stimulation of the vestibular system.
Dimenhydrinate is a combination medication that contains diphenhydramine (a first-generation antihistamine) and 8-chlorotheophylline (a xanthine derivative). The diphenhydramine component helps to alleviate symptoms of motion sickness by blocking the H1 histamine receptors and reducing the activity of the vestibular system. The addition of 8-chlorotheophylline, a mild stimulant, is meant to counteract the sedative effects of diphenhydramine.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
