DIOWELPREX, also known as divalproex sodium, is a medication that is primarily used to treat certain types of seizures and bipolar disorder. DIOWELPREX is also sometimes prescribed for the prevention of migraines.
DIOWELPREX is a compound that consists of sodium valproate and valproic acid. DIOWELPREX works by increasing the levels of a neurotransmitter called gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain. GABA helps to reduce the activity of nerve cells in the brain, which can help control seizures and stabilize mood in bipolar disorder.
DIOWELPREX is available in strengths of 250, 500 and 750mg.
