Acebrophylline (100mg) & Doxofylline (400mg)
S PHYLLIN DM
Acebrophylline is a bronchodilator and mucolytic agent. It is a combination of theophylline and an amino acid called glycine. Theophylline works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow. Glycine acts as a mucolytic agent, helping to thin and loosen the mucus in the airways, making it easier to cough up. Acebrophylline is known to have anti-inflammatory properties and can also improve mucociliary clearance (the ability of the respiratory tract to remove mucus and debris).
Doxofylline is another bronchodilator that works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways. It is a xanthine derivative similar to theophylline but has a slightly different chemical structure. Doxofylline is believed to have a more selective action on the airways, resulting in bronchodilation with fewer side effects compared to theophylline.
