GLICLAGLAZE MET (Gliclazide SR 60mg and Metformin SR 500mg)
May 30, 2023
Gliclazide SR (60mg) and Metformin SR (500mg)
GLICLAGLAZE MET are both medications used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Gliclazide works by stimulating the release of insulin from the pancreas, which helps to lower blood sugar levels. Gliclazide also helps to reduce the production of glucose by the liver.
Metformin works by reducing the production of glucose by the liver and improving the body's sensitivity to insulin, thereby enhancing the uptake of glucose by cells. Metformin also helps to lower fasting and postprandial (after meal) blood sugar levels.
GLICLAGLAZE MET is prescribed to individuals with type 2 diabetes who require more than one medication to achieve adequate blood sugar control. These medications have complementary mechanisms of action and can work together to effectively lower blood sugar levels.
GLICLAGLAZE MET is designed in sustained release formulation to release its active ingredient slowly and consistently over an extended period of time after administration.
