LETROZONE is a medication commonly used in the treatment of certain types of breast cancer, particularly hormone receptor-positive breast cancer in women who have gone through menopause. LETROZONE belongs to a class of drugs called aromatase inhibitors.
Aromatase inhibitors work by reducing the production of estrogen in the body. Estrogen can stimulate the growth of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer cells. By inhibiting the production of estrogen, LETROZONE helps to slow down or stop the growth of these cancer cells.
