TOLVAPTORIS 30 is primarily prescribed for the treatment of euvolemic or hypervolemic hyponatremia, which means that the body has an appropriate or excessive amount of fluid, respectively, but the sodium levels are still low. It's not typically used for hypovolemic hyponatremia (when there's a reduced volume of fluid in the body).
TOLVAPTORIS 30 is a selective vasopressin V2 receptor antagonist. Vasopressin is a hormone that plays a role in regulating water balance in the body. By blocking the V2 receptors, Tolvaptan reduces the reabsorption of water in the kidneys, leading to increased urine output and a gradual rise in sodium levels.
