PRASUGIL works by blocking a specific receptor on platelets called P2Y12, which is involved in platelet activation and aggregation. By inhibiting this receptor, PRASUGIL reduces the ability of platelets to stick together and form clots.
PRASUGIL is primarily indicated for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), including those with unstable angina or myocardial infarction (heart attack) who are managed with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), commonly known as angioplasty with stent placement.
