Side Effects:
Common Side Effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, weight gain, blurred vision.
Less Common Side Effects: Orthostatic hypotension (drop in blood pressure upon standing), tachycardia rapid heart rate, increased appetite, fatigue, headache.
Rare but Serious Side Effects: Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (characterized by fever, muscle stiffness, confusion), tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements), metabolic changes (such as hyperglycemia or dyslipidemia), QT prolongation (a heart rhythm disorder).
Withdrawal Symptoms: Abrupt discontinuation of quetiapine SR may lead to withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, insomnia, irritability, and anxiety.
