Sumatriptan and Naproxen
SUMOTROP NPX is a combination medication that is used to treat migraines.
Sumatriptan belongs to a class of drugs called triptans, which work by narrowing blood vessels in the brain and reducing the release of certain substances that can cause pain and inflammation.
Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing inflammation and pain. SUMOTROP NPX is prescribed to treat migraine attacks. The combination is believed to be more effective than either medication alone, and may also reduce the risk of migraine recurrence.
SUMOTROP NPX is taken as a tablet and is usually taken as soon as possible after the onset of migraine symptoms. The medication may be repeated if needed after a certain period of time.
Common side effects of SUMOTROP NPX medication include dizziness, drowsiness, and upset stomach. Less common but more serious side effects may include chest pain or tightness, shortness of breath, and severe headache. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.
