Teneligliptin & Pioglitazone
TENELIGOLD PIO 20/15
Teneligliptin and Pioglitazone are both medications used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, but they belong to different classes of antidiabetic drugs and have distinct mechanisms of action.
Teneligliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which in turn increases the levels of incretin hormones such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These hormones help regulate blood sugar levels by increasing insulin release and decreasing glucagon secretion.
Pioglitazone, on the other hand, is a thiazolidinedione (TZD) medication. It acts as an insulin sensitizer, which means it improves insulin sensitivity in the body's tissues, particularly in muscle, fat, and liver cells. Pioglitazone helps these cells respond more effectively to insulin, leading to better glucose uptake and utilization.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
